Wedding of Julianne & Adam--Yorktown, Virginia

Julianne and Adam wanted to incorporate the memories of Julianne's childhood in Yorktown, Virginia for their wedding. We choose the Historic Hornsby House Inn for their ceremony and reception. A mixture of farm and round tables draped in Blush and Ivory petal linen was our setting under the string lights that were suspended between the old oak trees. Crystal chandeliers, hung from the trees to add sparkle to our evening under the stars. Colors of ivory and coral were detailed throughout the ceremony and reception.
So much attention was paid to detail on this wedding. Birdcages filled with baby's breath and mini lights were hanging from the trees, guests signed little wooden hearts handmade by Julianne's grandfather then dropped into a shadow box in lieu of the guestbook. Potted plants in coral and white embellished areas throughout the yard. The place card table was draped with green moss and the place cards were nestled in alpa order. The table was placed beneath a crystal chandelier that was a gift to the bride by her aunt. The ruffled wedding cake with a coral sugar rose was placed on the baby grand piano in the living room of the house and all the guests enjoyed the toast and cake cutting. When you are married at the Hornsby House Inn there is a tradition with a very unique silver toasting cup...it has a large cup and very small cup under each other....the bride and groom toast...drink out of the cup at the same time ...one drinking out of the larger cup and the other out of the smaller..who ever spills the champagne the other gets to spank!!!! David Hornsby owner of the home tells this story so wonderfully. He says every couple who has been married in the home stays married forever!!!!
The bridesmaids wore coral dresses with cowboy boots, the groomsmen had coral chevron bowties, flower girls were in layers of organza petals with their cowboy boots and the best was the family golden retriever wearing a floral collar and carrying in her mouth the ring bearer pillow as she was walked up the aisle.
Father/Daughter dance brought tears to many as Julianne danced with her father to "Butterfly Kisses". This particular song was one that she would stand on her father's feet as a child and dance too. Adam danced with his "Gram" and they brought so much joy to the guests that everyone wanted to dance. Two families who had never met prior to the wedding were joined as one this evening. The twenty-fifth of June
was a beautiful night as everyone danced the night away under the stars in Yorktown, Virginia.
